Definizione

Landsberg was a subcamp of Dachau, south of Augsburg. According to camp documents, the camp opened no later than July 14, 1944. Men began working at the camp no later than July 14, 1944, and women began working there no later than February 11, 1945. The camp closed no earlier than April 25, 1945. Some of the men were made to work in the aircraft industry, while other men, as well as women, were assigned to the dynamite industry. The aircraft industry used an average of 550 male prisoners. The dynamite industry used an average of 100 male prisoners and 75 female prisoners respectively. The companies were: Dornier-Flugzeugwerke, Landsberg; Messerschmitt AG; Deutsche Dynamit-AG (DAG), Landsberg; and IG Farbenindustrie. (en-US)
