Location: In the NE of Spain in the region of Catalonia. The Mediterranean Sea constitutes the E border of the province. The province was bordered clockwise from the S in 2000 by Gerona, Tarragona, and Lérida provinces. The Catalan language is spoken in Barcelona in addition to Spanish. The main cities are: Barcelona, Sabadell, Tarrasa, Manresa, and Mataró. Capital city: Barcelona (en-US)
