Located in the Piedmont area of northwest Italy, the capital city of the province is Cuneo. In 1947 according to a treaty signed, a small area of the province in the south and the south-west was ceded to France. The province of Cuneo is bordered in the south and in the south-west by France, and it is surrounded by the following Italian provinces: Torino, Asti, Savona and Imperia. (en-US)
