Definition: Born December 18, 1947, Cincinnati, Ohio. Spielberg is an award winning writer, producer, and director of motion pictures and television. He is the founder of Amblin Entertainment and a co-founder of Dreamworks SKG. Spielberg's 1993 film on the topic of the Holocaust, Schindler's List, was the recipient of the Best Picture and Best Director awards of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. In 1994, Steven Spielberg founded the Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation to document Holocaust survivor testimonies. (en-US)
