The Romanian army is unable to hold Transnistria, and the Wehrmacht takes over its defense. The Romanian government refuses to deport its Jews and introduces new anti-Jewish economic measures. Jewish refugees from Romania, Bukovina, Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia leave the country on boats heading for Palestine. On November 15, the Romanian anti-fascist "Tudor Vladimirescu" division is set up in the USSR. (en-US)
