Germany attacks Poland September 1. The Red Army enters on September 17. Borders between the USSR and Germany are establish September 28. Warsaw is surrendered on September 28. The Germans carry out mass executions of Polish and Jewish POWs and civilians. The first ghetto is established in Piotrków Tribunalski in October. By the end of the year, Germany annexes Watheland, Upper Silesia, Danzig, and the northern part of Mazovia and expels Poles and Jews. (en-US)
