Definizione

The liberation of the Ukraine continues and is completed in late August 1944. The Transcarpathian Ukraine and the Crimean peninsula are incorporatied into the Ukraine in 1945 and 1954, respectively. Five Soviet offensives take place in the summer of 1944. Churchill, Roosevelt, and Stalin meet in Yalta to discuss military and postwar issues. On May 2, 1945, Berlin falls to the Red Army. The USSR enters the war against Japan on August 8, 1945. World War II ends on September 2, 1945. (en-US)
