Crisana-Maramures (Romania : Province) CercaDefinizione
Romanian province composed by two historic regions Crisana and Maramures. Both Crisana and Maramures were part of Hungary until 1918. Most of Crisana-Maramures was annexed by Hungary in accordance with the Second Vienna Award (August 1940). Soviet and Romanian armies liberated the region in the fall of 1944. Since that time Crisana-Maramures has been a part of Romanian territory. The province of Crisana-Maramures bordered Banatul to the south, Hungary and Czechoslovakia to the northwest, Poland to the northeast, and Bukovina to the east.
The province of Crisana-Maramures consisted of four counties: Arad, Bihor, Maramures, and Satu-Mare. (en-US)
