Definizione

Romania declares war against the USSR on June 13, 1941. Atrocities against Jews are committed in Transnistria. The Iasi pogrom of June 28-30, 1941 produces 3,000 victims. During September-November 1941, many Jews in Bessarabia, Bukovina and the Dorohoi district are massacred and/or deported to Transnistria. Romanian government permits Jewish emigration to Palestine on a small scale. An antifacist resistance movement emerges in the summer/fall of 1943. (en-US)
