Definizione

Definition: On September 1, 1939, Germany attacks Poland. Soviet forces enter Eastern Poland on September 17. An agreement regarding borders between the USSR and Germany is signed September 28, 1939. The Wehrmacht and the Einsatzgruppen execute 16,000 Poles and Jews in late1939. By the end of 1939, Germany annexes Wathland, Upper Silesia, Danzig, and the northern part of Mazovia. Soviet authorities destroy traditional Jewish institutions and organizations in Eastern Poland during 1939-1941. (en-US)
