Definizione

Definition: With the outbreak of World War II on September 1, 1939, Belgium maintains neutrality. Germany invades Belgium on May 10, 1940, annexes Malmédy-Eupen, and occupies Belgium. Despite its significant Flemish population, Belgium is treated as a "Romanic" region; primary wartime aims of Germans are millitary security and economic exploitation. Deportation begins with Jews of foreign nationality. (en-US)
